The LGBTQ Behavioral Health Coalition of Southern Arizona provides beginning and advanced training sessions on topics related to the LGBTQ population and the provision of health care serivces. Several standard trainings have been developed (see below), but these workshops can be customized to meet your organization’s needs.

Workshops

1. LGBQ 101 — Introduction to LGBQ: Definitions, Understanding Heterosexism and Homophobia
2. LGBQ 201 — Somewhere Over the Rainbow: Therapeutic Assessment and Intervention for the LGBTQ Population
3. Trans 101 — The Brave New World of Gender: A Media Exploration of Gender Variance
4. Trans 201 — Pathways to Understanding: Clinical Guidelines for working with Transgender People

 

Fees

Training fees consist of hourly charges, as well as travel (mileage, airfare, etc.) to and from the training site for distances greater than 25 miles one way. If an overnight stay is required, a per diem charge will also be assessed.

• Hourly rate (2-hour minimum): $75 / hour
• Half-day workshop (4 hours): $250
• Full-day workshop (5 to 8 hours): $400
